For my session at Metagame, I'm tasking two teams to compete to design a rulesystem that solves an error in the Magic: The Gathering rulebook.

This is the sort of thing I do myself frequently; for a past example you can see my improved dependency rules, or several other articles on my blog. For this particular problem, I spent 2 months working on it with a friend of mine, and we were able to come up with a solution that mostly solves the problem, but it still has one flaw, and is more complicated than I'd like.

The teams at Metagame will only have 2 hours to work on their solutions, but they'll have many more people working together, several of whom are probably smarter than me. So, will the best solution they come up with be better than mine?
