@sointex we need a ruling on whether Ishiba is resigned or not already (I think that it would be cleaner to say that he has)
@JoshuaWilkes I'll check in the morning. As far as I've read, he has voiced that he is ready to step down, but will still BE prime minister until an election is held.
@JoshuaWilkes OK. So according to this NHK article/video, the LDP will be deciding today (Mon. 9/8) on whether or when to hold a special election, so it is my understanding that Ishiba will serve as prime minister until a new one is elected despite his INTENTION to resign early. If anyone has information to prove otherwise, please let me know.
